You have a 5 gallon jug and a 3 gallon jug. You have no other measuring devices.

Measure out exactly 4 gallons of water (Assume you have a river handy, or some other limitless water supply).

u fill the big one, put the content in the 3 one, u end up with 2 gall on the big one, spill the 3 one, fill the 3 one with the two in the big jar, fill the big jar, and fillthe remaining space in the 3 one, the quantity in the 5 one is now 4 gallons.
