On what kind of surface would a square wheel function the same as a round wheel?

Picking up the thought trail... Since we are tracking the center of the "wheel", we can assume that the center of mass will be directly in that point, meaning that the weight will be on the point directly under.

So we need to come up with a function for the distance from the center of the wheel, to the point on the edge of the wheel under the center as the wheel rotates. (I'm guessing it will be a function of the angle of rotation)

More to come...?
