A 10x10 square can obviously hold 100 unit circles (diameter=1) when arranged in rows and columns. What is the maximum number of non-overlapping unit circles a 10x10 square can hold if the circles are packed closer together?

Well, I predicted the same answer to that of your, but I did not calculate all that. By the way, I doubt you Pythagoras equation is correct. Anyway, I predicted 105 because I simply just packed the circle, like you did, but I did not bother to calculate the length, (lazy to) well, just figured that there might be enough space for the eleventh row.
Hei, can you explain to me what the bulb means? The correct answer? But yours and the other also has a bulb, but his is 100! How is that possible? I too predicted 105, but I do not have a bulb??
I am new here, can you help me? Thank you, in advance.
