Place 1 king, 2 queens, and 5 knights on a standard 8×8 chessboard so that every unoccupied square is under attack.
i'm sure others already have the solution but i don't read them until i get one. here's my solution: Queens on a1 and h8, Knights on e4, d4, e5, d5 leaving two squares uncovered (g2 and b7) on which you can put the remaining king and knight. For another challenge, try using the army of one side (King, Queen, 2 Knights, 2 Rooks, 2 Bishops (light and dark), no pawns) to attack the whole board.
