I die half my life and live the rest.
I dance without music and breathe without breath.

What am I ?

Solution SO SIMPLE! | Comment 65 of 152 |
I've gotta say, I haven't read ALL of the comments so I don't know if this has been said yet - but out of the ten or so ones i looked at everyone seemed to be obviously way off or concentrating far too much on the first line.
The first thing that really caught my eye was the breathe without breath. I pushed myself not to think of breathing as in the human act, and i got to thinking about linen and all that jazz. It seemed to get me no where, then ALL of a sudden it hit me...

FIRE!!!

Fire is forever dying and living, almost simutaniously ('honey, the fire's dying' 'oooh, i'll just re-fuel it') As we all know fire dances, this has not only been a common folk image of fire in a dancing blaze, but there have also been dancing fire figures in a few old disney films. Breathing without breath? Well, as we all know fire breaths oxygen, that is how it stays alight, or 'alive'
there we have it, the definitive 'fire' none of this "it's a flower!' crap. Stop being so literal people!!!
