Your picture did the trick.  I try to solve the puzzle then go through the comments.  I came up with 45 deg,  and I couldn't figure out why everyone kept coming up with 36.  I kept drawing BD making two right triangles, which is impossible.  As soon as I saw your picture I realized my mistake.
