Poetry in motion (Posted on 2004-03-25) Difficulty: 3 of 5
I die half my life and live the rest.
I dance without music and breathe without breath.

What am I ?

This might be it but... | Comment 83 of 152 |

This might be it but I'm not completely sure.

About the dieing and living part-Every atom in the universe can decay to some degree. When half of a group of similar atoms decay into a lower atomic mass they say that it is a half life. So it must be some sort of atom or a combination.

About the dancing part-Some atoms are mediums (a mass) where soundwaves can travel in. In fact soundwaves have to be in a medium. A sound wave doesn't have to be music, it could be noise. In order for sound waves to travel, something has to vibrate, then it hits the medium and so on. It kind of dances because of the frequency. The frequency is supposed to be constant, and move the same way. So we are probably talking about water, air, or metal. Yes metal vibrates when sound waves touch it.

About the breathing part-This might be the most outragious one. What do we need to breath in order to live? Air. Du! But does air breath? Probably not. But tis is probably as close as I would get. So go ahead and say what ever you think.
