Daughters and Sons (Posted on 2003-10-25) Difficulty: 2 of 5
A mother and her friend are talking about how many chidren they have. The friend knows how many daughters the mother has, but doesn't know how many sons she has. The mother says:

"All of my children have the same amount of brothers and the same amount of sisters as the other children."

Now the friend knew how many sons she had. How many sons did the mother have?

Uh, I dont think your too bright on this one, DJ is right. If she had ten sons then it wouldn't work. "All of my children have the same amount of brothers and the same amount of sisters as the other children." If she had 1D and 1S, it wouldn't work eve. Because the daughter would have to have 1 more sister and the son would have to have 1 more brother. The process would repeat itself over and over. Don't jump to conclusions, this riddle wasn't all that hard, I first thought of the 1 of each first and after i realized it would continue on forever, zero has to be the correct answer. Good job DJ, nice explaining.
