When setting the type for a book, a publisher wanted to use a particular font to number the book's pages. They found that they needed 2775 digit characters for the whole book.
How many pages does the book contain?
While it can be argued that the book cannot have an odd number of pages, I think in this case it is nitpicking. After all, the problem was posed with a publisher's perspective, and it is clear that they are only concerned with printed pages.
Would it be better if that was how the question is phrased?
