I can sizzle like bacon, I am made with an egg,
I have plenty of backbone, but lack a good leg,
I peel layers like onions, but still remain whole,
I can be long, like a flagpole, yet fit in a hole,
What am I?
The answer is a snake. The snake's hissing sound is practically identical to that of sizzling bacon. Snakes hatch from eggs therefore being made from an egg. Snakes have a vertabrae. Snakes have no legs. Snakes shed their skin but only one layer so they still remain whole. They can be very very long and still fit in a hole because they are not wide.
