There is a pattern to the following picture. Determine the pattern and then fill in what is missing from the light blue square.

The pattern that I found (and is equal to the pattern of christiaan), but more easily to see is :

$$$&&LLLL@EEE (L and E for pound and euro)

Start in the upper left corner, and moving always counterclockwise, fill the grid in an espiral way, using the sequence of symbols above .

That is, start to fill the first column, till the end, continue in the bottom line till the end, then up in the right column till the end, then left in the first line, and so on, till yyou reach the center of the grid.
