What is the 1000th digit to the right of the decimal point in the decimal representation of (1+√2)^3000?
This problem can be solved by algebra alone, without the need for computers or calculators
Charlie, you are smart. However, I use my calculator to calculate it and it gives me the answer is 1.xxxxxxxx. Please check the computation by using calculator. The answer is between 1.2 and 1. So, what is your 1000th digit then? Please note that your calculator can only give you the most 8th digit or even twelve digit accuracy. If you use Logarithm table, it only gives you 5 digits accuracy. After multiply it, your answer would not be so accurate.
So, you have not computed the figure to me with 1000th digit accuracy.
The answer is still 3 if you could not prove your answer is correct. You have to use your calculator to compute and compute the answer with your brain.
Please do it again.
Thanks.
