It is a riddle.
It is the strongest force,
to resist your force,
and yet it is not a force.
It never accelerates,
but it is always moving.
It never rests, and
it never gets tired.
It has been defined many ways,
but no one can quite capture it.
What is it?

Actually, acceleration does not mean change in speed, it means change in velocity. The earth is spinning, therefore, we are not actually standing still, but spinning along with it. Since our direction is constantly changing, that means our velocity is constantly changing. So actually, gravity is forcing us to have acceleration, for without gravity, we would be floating through space, with no change in speed or velocity.
