It is a riddle.
It is the strongest force,
to resist your force,
and yet it is not a force.
It never accelerates,
but it is always moving.
It never rests, and
it never gets tired.
It has been defined many ways,
but no one can quite capture it.
What is it?
(In reply to
velocity is not acceleration by Jonathan Chang)
i never said velocity is acceleration..
would you like to quote me on that?
i'm seeing the chatterbox right now...
if you insist on riddles "generally being general" and it MUST refer to a GENERAL dictionary...then there's no point in having a discussion in this post at all anymore..
and man..if you don't believe me..
go to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary ONLINE....
even the SIMPLEST of FOUR definitions of ACCELERATION
talks about VELOCITY...and it's the dictionary YOU chose...
Quote from http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary
Pronunciation: ik-"se-l&-'rA-sh&n, (")ak-
Function: noun
1 : the act or process of accelerating : the state of being accelerated
2 : the rate of change of velocity with respect to time; broadly : change of velocity
if there are any more arguements/rebuttles to this acceleration definition crap, i don't care anymore...
i'm more interested in people having the different names for Time thingy now...btw..just reread the whole riddle..
i don't get how it's the strongest force....
anyone?
