A Man Without Eyes (Posted on 2005-05-10) Difficulty: 1 of 5
A man without eyes saw plums on a tree.
He did not leave plums on the tree, yet he did not take plums either.
How can this be?

Actually I tried this trick on the forum long ago, in solving Ady_TZIDON's puzzle "my house's number" (posted on 6/21/2004), which included the words "Find the number ..-no computer programs!!!"

I solved it through a strict interpretation of Ady's words: "no computer programs!!!" That's "programs" (plural). I only used one program (singular). So I did not violate the letter of the law.

Gamer replied to this: "Anyway, Ady's point 'no computer programs' means 'no using set A, where set A is the set of all computer programs' ".

So by Gamer's ruling, the "plurals" solution to this puzzle ("eyes" vrs. "eye", "plums" vrs. "plum") is not correct.
