Fill in the next two letters of this sequence: W, C, P, PH, C, S, G, W, P, F...

I'm thinking the letters refer to surnames/family names of British royalty, with the first W standing for Windsor, but I can't find any comprehensive list of family names for British royalty, and I'm too apathetic at this time to put much effort into it.
