You have a square glass panel with 24 cm sides and a ring with 5 cm internal diameter.
Cut the glass in 4 identical pieces such that you can slide them through the ring.

My first thoughts turned to a square spiral, after reading through the answers I would agree that the horseshoe would work too.  Both solutions are dependent upon the external diameter of the ring being sufficiently small also.
