Breaking glass (Posted on 2005-06-30) Difficulty: 2 of 5
You have a square glass panel with 24 cm sides and a ring with 5 cm internal diameter.
Cut the glass in 4 identical pieces such that you can slide them through the ring.

This way, the width of each piece is 3cm throughout.  3cm x ¡Ì2 ¡Ö 4.245cm < 5cm, so the ring will fit around the corners (assuming the ring thickness isn't an issue).
