If a stone is dropped from a balloon on a still day, does the stone fall directly below the balloon, or to the west or east of it?

Discipline Refocus - Appreciation | Comment 22 of 36 |
I have long realised that disciplines, including those in which I was instructed, have advanced; and that maybe such instruction was given honestly but curriculum structures restricted the full delivery of such concepts.

I have not consciously addressed most concepts from within those disciplines since then as my career took me down a different path.

I enjoy the 're-education' that is inherent in debated comments, where I have background to understand and time to reflect.

Hugo, your Coriolis force  link was of value to me.

And from comments here, I obviously need to recap on my Laws of Motion.

Thanks for the lessons.
