When you draw three circles of radius r such that all three are externally tangent, what is the area of the shape in the center in terms of r?

I actually toyed with dispensing with a denominator,
but I think that my solution is more readable in this format:
Rē(2√3 - π)/2
---
{ this does say R*R*(2√3 - Pi)/2 or R^2*(2√3 - π)/2}
[also I do not need to use a * sign prior to the first bracket as
that is implied - the "π" is Pi, inserted from the
Format Toolbar within the comment editing section].
