You are standing on a beach looking out into the ocean. Assuming your view is unobstructed, how far can you see?

You will be able to see as far as the physical limitations of the sphere.  However, there is refraction of light in the atmosphere due to different atmospheric densities.  We would hence be able to see a little beyond the straight line tangent to the sphere.
