I'd say a white lie is still always wrong.

You could say the ends will justify the means. That is, if the 'ends' is that the Nazis don't find the Jews, then the lie (that was the 'means') will be justified. But as a lie, I still find it morally wrong.

The right thing to do would be not to tell the Nazis anything, or to ask them 'what Jews?' You could also tell them the Jews are 'under the table' and they won't believe you because they don't know about the trapdoor.

And if your friend's asking if she looks fat in that new dress, is it really right to say 'no' and let her walk around all day before she really sees herself in the mirror?
