1) Mrs. Astor was insulted by Mr. Blake who sat next to her on her left.
2) Mr. Blake was insulted by Mrs. Crane who sat opposite him across the center of the table.
3) Mrs. Crane was insulted by the hostess who was the only person who sat between a married couple.
4) The hostess was insulted by the only person who sat between two men.
Who insulted the hostess?

re(2): No Solution Yet? by Mindrod)
Mindy, it seems that you are new here.
Even when a user posts a correct solution, the idea is to give the others the possibility of trying to solve the problem too, and solving it, they can agree or disagree with the solution posted by another user.
As Charlie said, the "no solution yet" that appears doesnŽt mean that no one has achieved the right solution.
And only answering the question "who insulted the hostess" is not sufficient (one could simply be guessing). I want the reasoning that leads the user to find his solution.
After a reasonable time, IŽll post the "official" answer, and the users who submitted a possible solution, can check if theirs reasonings were right or not.
