Palindromic sequences (Posted on 2005-10-31) Difficulty: 3 of 5
1,1
1,2,1
1,3,2,3,1
1,4,3,2,3,4,1
1,5,4,3,5,2,5,3,4,5,1
1,6,5,4,3,5,2,5,3,4,5,6,1

What are the next several lines and how are they formed?

Do the sequences have any special feature?

Does the pattern continue indefinitely?

Some Thoughts a thought | Comment 1 of 16
I noticed that the number of elements in each row follows the prime numbers:
2, 3, 5, 7, 11, etc.

But so far, the pattern of the numbers themselves evades me. I can see several possibilities to generate the pattern so far.

Perhaps Bob will add a few more lines to help narrow down the possibilities.
