I Only Need Two (Posted on 2005-11-09) Difficulty: 3 of 5
A set of 17 coins contains five 35g coins and twelve 30g coins. Using a balance scale at most four times find at least two of the 35g coins.

Your solution seems to be in error.

You wrote in Step 1 that:
"Misbalanced: There are 3 Heavy coins on the heavy side, and either 1 or 2 on the light side. (Step 2B)"

Might there not be 5 on the heavy side and 0 on the light? Or 4 on the heavy side and 0 or 1 on the light? Or, as you said, 3 on the heavy side and either 1 or 2 on the light?
