I think you hit the nail on the head, Hugo.  You are laterally a genius!

I think the next few terms of Leming's sequence, following 906, 916, and 986, would then be:

1001, 1111, 1691, 1881, 1961

which would make the next few terms of Joe's sequence, following 18, 10, 70:

15, 110, 580, 190, 80.
