I alluded to this in my first reply, but I elaborate just for the philosophical fun of it...
It takes a finite amount of time for your sense and brain to process the inputs from what we call the "present". By the time we recognize, consciously or unconsciously, the "present" it is already past and therefore in your view would not exist.
So you might as well keep thinking about the future. :)
I make no pretense of being a philosopher, but I enjoy the mind-bending experience of trying to comprehend some of their reasoning.
