Harmony and Disharmony

One object in particular
Is really not peculiar

A fret is an object. The word is derived from the Old French word frete (“interlaced work, trellis work”), it the ridge on the fingerboard of a stringed instrument.

It means the same as worry

Fret also means to worry. The word derived from the Old English word fretan (“eat, devour”).

The past not to bury

Fret also has an older meaning similar to unbury. To bury is to cover with soil or rock, and unbury to remove the cover of soil and rock.  The transitive verb, fret, can also mean to remove soil or rock.

It also refers to
Something else it's true
By touching this thing
Melodious sounds might ring

As fret. as it is the ridge on the fingerboard of a stringed instrument, if it is touched, there is a good chance that a string or the strings of the musical instrument would be touched and sound a musical note.
