Millenium problem (Posted on 2006-08-21) Difficulty: 1 of 5
Write the number 1000 as an arithmetic expression, i.e. using only digits and the symbols
+ - * /
such that exactly nine 9's and no other digits show up.

While I didn't really attempt to address the problem as such, I found afterwards that I have run foul of JLo's rules, I introduced the ( ^ ) 'to the power of sign'.

I have a measily 92:

     9^(9/9)*9^(9/9)+99/9
=   9 * 9 + 11

Can what was done with Five Fives be done with Nine Nines?
Find that here
The Five Fives is here

I've already broken  the rules, like what happened with Five Fives,
BUT,
  I am displaying 9 nines!

JLo, don't be surprised if this blows out into something you didn't intend, but then, you never know what is behind something simple.

Maybe someone will have the need to create a Nine Nines thread in General.  Let's see.
