Little miss Etticoat,
In a white petticoat,
And with a red nose.
The longer she stands,
The shorter she grows.

Who or What is she?

I first thought about it being a candle but that doesn't work since  the white is not put on but part of the candle itself after thinking some more I came to think that it was a cigerette because it has a cherry red tip covered in white paper burning on intill the end(ignore the no puncuation and bad spelling I just didn't feel like doing it right today)
