The first line of the riddle implies  "Spy".
The second is line of the riddle implies the letter "D" 
The third line of the riddle implies "err". 
Iin terms of the seventh line, we obtain "Spy" + "D" + "Err" = Spyderr
Now, In conformity with the last line of the riddle, we are looking for a creature whose name is phoenitically similar to "Spyderr".
Consequently, the required solution to this puzzle seems to  be "Spider".
