Can you fold a square sheet of paper into three equal rectangles, without using anything but folding?
(That is, you are not allowed to use anything but your hands, and you cannot do anything but folding... everything else is forbidden!)
Label corners of square A, B, C, D
Fold the sides AB and CD to the centre to form two equal rectangles - then fold one end to middle to leave three equal rectangles.
Result is three rectangles of equal size (each 1/2 width by 1/4 width of original square)
Sorry - cannot draw it here :~
(my assumption here is that we are aiming for a visual answer, as if you turn the paper over you just get one visual rectangle)
