placing numbers (Posted on 2007-03-12) Difficulty: 4 of 5
You need to make it so that the sum in every row and column will be equal. To do that, you need to select two positive integers. The only numbers that you can place in the grid are those two integers, their sum, their difference, their product, or their quotient. You can place only whole numbers.

Can you complete the grid?

The are more than two integers you may place.  For example, if you chose the integers 6 and 2, you could enter any of the following in addition to 6 and 2:
12 (6 x 2), 8 (6 + 2), 4 (6 - 2), 3 (6 / 2), and, possibly, if Assaf is using the definition of Whole number to permit negative integers, -4 (2 - 6).

Would you clarify this Assaf? Are negative integers permitted?
