Thirteen 1x1x2 bricks are assembled into a 3x3x3 cube with a hole in the cube. Where can this hole occur?

A hole in a 3x3x3 cube assembled with 1x1x2 bricks will occur either on one of the eight corners or six face-centers.  The twelve center-edges and the one center cube can not be left as the hole.
