Timothy goes to the island of knights and liars searching for gold. On the way,he meets a native.

What one question could Timothy ask the native to find out if there is gold on the island?

Timothy should ask, "If I asked you if  you are a knight, would you respond by saying yes?"

If the native responds affirmatively, then there is gold in the island. If the native responds negatively, then there does not exist any gold in the island.
