This is a bar bet. You bet another player "You cannot beat me at Poker even if we pick our hands out of a faceup deck, and you pick first."
The rules:
* First, a player picks five cards from the face up deck.
* Then, the other player picks five of the remaining cards.
* Suits are all ranked the same
* There is one draw phase where either player may get new cards.
QUESTION 1: How can you win your bet if the other player goes first, and picks a Royal Flush (10-J-Q-K-A of the same suit) as most people would?
QUESTION 2: How can you win your bet if you go first?
Tougher than I thought after reading the previous posts.
Q1: Pick a Royal Flush of a different suit and tie your opponent thus winning the bet.
Q2: You go first, pick 10-10-10-10-J.
Opponnent can get at best 9-8-7-6-5 straight flush or A-A-A-A-K four of a kind.
If opponent went for the 9-8-7-6-5, then take A-K-Q-J-10 Royal Flush. Opponent cannot win since all remaining 10s are in the discard pile.
If opponent went for the A-A-A-A-K, then take the K-Q-J-10-9 in any suit available. The Royal Flush or K-high straight flush are not available to your opponent since the 10s are discarded.
You win the hand and the bet.
Hands like J-J-J-Q-Q or 9-9-9-9-8 do not prevent a winning 10 high, or Ace high straight flush respectfively.
