This is a bar bet. You bet another player "You cannot beat me at Poker even if we pick our hands out of a faceup deck, and you pick first."
The rules:
* First, a player picks five cards from the face up deck.
* Then, the other player picks five of the remaining cards.
* Suits are all ranked the same
* There is one draw phase where either player may get new cards.
QUESTION 1: How can you win your bet if the other player goes first, and picks a Royal Flush (10-J-Q-K-A of the same suit) as most people would?
QUESTION 2: How can you win your bet if you go first?
As noted by previous posts, the bet can be won by a tie-hand. If your opponent draws a Royal Flush, you can too.
Though, if your opponent is clever, he does not go for a Royal Flush, but instead forms his hand as A-A-A-A-Joker. Most poker decks contain at least one Joker, and in the game of Poker Five-of-a-Kind beats a Royal Flush. Even if a second Joker exists, you would not be able to form an equal or higher ranking hand -- that is, except by interpreting the rules differently than the standard interpretation.....you draw your new cards from your opponent's hand. With this latter interpretation, if your opponent thinks like you, you don't win if you go first.
