Umm... If I interpret patterned as repeating, I believe all repeating numbers can be written as ratios.

For example .4444... = 4/9
.27272727... = 27/99 = 3/11
.345345345... = 345/999 = 115/333
.142857142857142857... = 142857/999999 = 1/7

Am I not educated enough to see a problem here?
