ABCD (2) (Posted on 2008-03-07) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Place one of the four letters A, B, C or D in each of the blue-coloured cells. No letter can be horizontally or vertically adjacent to itself. The yellow-coloured tables above and to the left of the grid indicate how many times each letter appears in that column or row.

This is an extended version of ABCD.

The "no solution yet" is visible until the author makes his or her solution public.  If you wish to avoid seeing the solution that has been posted in comments, avoid looking at comments that indicate in their title that they contain a solution or spoiler, or that have the "full solution" icon next to the title. That Josie (or scholars/journeymen) hasn't/haven't published the solution is not an indication that the offered solutions in the comments are not sufficient.

I too follow the New Scientist Enigma column, and quite a few of the puzzles I've posted on this site are from the Enigmas, the latest example being "Layover at LaGuardia", based on No. 1477, "In Transit". I give acknowledgement in the solution.
