Spaced Out Cent (Posted on 2008-03-01) Difficulty: 2 of 5
Each of the letters represent a different digit from 0 to 9 in the following alphanumeric subtraction problem:

                                SPACE
                               -  CENT
                                  3651

What is the word representing 3651? How about 15631?

Note: Neither S nor C can be 0.

I know there are earlier comments, but it still has the label "no solution yet" and I am looking for supposedly unsolved puzzles.

C cannot be zero. S must be 1 (for the given subtraction).  Vary P,A,E,T from 0 to 9, and C from 1 t0 9.

In 0.02 seconds, this gives 13296 - 9645 = 3651.

SPACE=13296 and CENT=9645

3651 would be PETS

l5631 would be STEPS

I'll vote after submitting this.
