Tangent with Straightedge (Posted on 2008-03-13) Difficulty: 4 of 5
Let gamma be a circle with center O and P a point outside gamma.

Construct a tangent line to gamma through point P using a straightedge only.

Prove the construction.

Bractals used the word "gamma" to refer to his circle's circumference.  In my post the symbol "& gamma;",  "γ" appears instead of having to use "gamma".

Later I tried to use "& ang;"  /  to designate an angle.  Funny how somethings may be made to work!

And if there is an edit note after this post (like below, and in this frame) I've had hiccups with those characters.

Oh! I've had to employ the "View Source" checkbox as well.
