The given sequence is in reality a sequence of pairs of numbers, rather than a seuence of numbers, and the said sequence is as follows:
(5, 3), (8, 2), (2, ?), (5, 3), (7, ?), (2, ?), ...
The first element of each pair denotes the solfeggio notes from 1 to 8 , that is, 1= DO, 2= RE, 3= MI, 4= FA,...... ..., 7=TI, 8= DO, while the second number denotes the number of letters in the standard way of writing the solfeggio note.
For example, for the second pair (8,2), we observe that 8 = DO, and the total number of letters in DO is 2.
Since, the number of letters in each of RE and TI are 2, it follows that each of the three missing numbers in the given sequence is 2.
