with the number range between the values
1 2 2 4

3+4-1=6
4+6-2=8
6+8-2=12
8+12-4=16
and so on
12+16-8=20
then of course it starts counting backward
16+20-32=4


each equal is the next corresponding number so you see how it works.
the value that is taken away is the value between the numbers
