Look at the 8x8 grid below at left. In the rows and columns there are repeated numbers. Erasing 19 of them, we achieve the grid at right, that has no repeated numbers in any row, in any column.

The site offered is in German (it therefore offered me little) but it did give me some valuable link, at Wikipedia. In that article it suggested the respective rules with which we were not called upon to use.

At the bottom of that page is an external link to a flash tutorial (Nikoli).
