Do: RE+MI=FA (Posted on 2009-11-14) Difficulty: 2 of 5

Answer, but 'TI' still unknown | Comment 1 of 4

I think I have the answer, but it leaves the note 'TI' unknown (other than "a drink with jam & bread").

First off, it's clear that S=1 and O = zero, and then L has to be 9.  Then using the equations A+I=9, M=D+1, and F=R+D+1 or R+D+2, you can trial & error a few combinations to get the solution:

27 + 56 = 83

40 + 16 = 56

93 + 16 = 109
