Two identical balls roll across the top of a table on parallel paths. One of the balls has to roll down into and up out of a dip in the table. The other ball rolls on the flat all the time. Which ball gets to the far side of the table first, and why?.

you are right, sorry for the blooper on the average speed... my bad...
what i mean by the second point is total horizontal distance of dip will be v0*t1. And tan(theta) can be given by depth of the dip / half the horizontal length which is v0*t1/2, or cos(theta) can be given by half the horizontal distance / length of inclined path(up OR down).
so either theta or 'h' in the equation might be replaceable. It might just be another silly mistake im making.
