Roman matches (Posted on 2010-09-28) Difficulty: 1 of 5
My friend placed on my desk 10 regular matches, forming the following "equation":

XI+I=X

After I've pointed out to him that it is not true, he responded:
"Well, then make it true, but touching neither the matches nor the table.
No adding , removing, burning etc - just make it e q u a l ! "

How would you solve it , obeying all his rules?

FYI

The solution for  As easy as pie was published by me on Sept 5.

Since then I've collected about 15 additional samples in different languages.
