re(3): computer exploration -- oh, I see a mistake in my reasoning -- solution (spoiler) by ed bottemiller)
Firstly I note that Charlie has come to the defence of problem posters at Perplexus.
One has to realise that posters are amateurs and do rely on the scrutiny of the JM forum (which he mentioned) for passage to the public. That some things slip through is therefore only to be expected.
Choice of language tends to be rigorously challenged as for instance was what lead to: "Nine solutions of the above scenario exist.", although I have missed reporting one solution in the body text.
Charlie's anagrams of "1113 or 1137" are actually indirectly restricted by the body text but also by what "total" might be.
I trust that those who gave at least 3TUs for this to go public recognised the global significance of language as applied to the problem.
