Ready, action…,CUT! (Posted on 2012-05-16) Difficulty: 3 of 5
Four math students ordered three pizzas: one large (55 cm diameter), one medium (44 cm diameter) and one small (33 cm diameter).
Upon delivery they decided to divide it fairly between them by cutting the pizzas into the fewest number of pieces.
Ignoring the toppings and assuming uniformity of thickness please provide a solution with less than 6 pieces.

Some Thoughts The Bun Problem | Comment 17 of 19 |
I just logged on and my random bonus problem was "The Bun Problem", submitted by Gamer in 2004.  It is the same as this problem.  This doesn't bother me, since it has been 8 years.  I thought that people might be interested in seeing those solutions. The posted solution uses Dej Mar's pie overlay method.
