A man is trapped in a room far away from home There is a door with a keyhole, but it is locked. He does not feel an immediate need to escape as help is on the way and he will be free within the next 24 hours.
In the room there is:
Using wordplay, how does he eat and drink (in this order) in the interim?
Note: This riddle allows the use of homophones and different meanings of words. For example, if somewhere along the way you get the word "pear", you're allowed switching it to the word "pair" because they're homophones. Also, if you get the word "note", you're allowed to switch the meaning from something to help you remember to a musical note, or vice versa.
The man feasted on dates and sundaes.
For drink he could have had tea from the days marked "T" (Tuesday and Thursday). He could fill the bed with a few punches or whine (wine) a little. He could turn the calendar to Spring or open the box mattress to reveal the springs and have fresh, running water to drink.
